I have several different recipes for Mexican cornbread and all are pretty good. However, I was reminded of this recipe a few weeks ago and pulled out an old church cookbook to use it. It was a recipe of Mrs. Billie Earl Brasher, who went to heaven several years ago. Not only was she a wonderful cook but just the most beautiful southern lady you would ever want to meet. I wanted to use her recipe for our New Years' meal and man was it delicious. Sometimes it does my heart good to use a recipe of a special person. I hope you will try this one.
