BREAD PUDDING WITH BUTTER RUM SAUCE

Bread pudding is one of my favorite desserts. There are several restaurants near me that have Bread pudding on their menus and I always order. I asked a manager if he shared his recipe once and he said that he didn't (I understood). Later he came back to the table and said his secret is the sauce which was a Butter Rum sauce. I tried putting different recipes together and came up with this one which is very close in taste. It has more ingredients than I usually share but it's so worth it. It's not hard but does take time for the bread to soak up the milk mixture. Don't let the "look" of the ingredients keep you from trying it some time.
I made this bread pudding last weekend for a family get-together. It was amazing and everyone raved about how delicious it was! My aunt even said she thought she was in Heaven it was so good and my brother (who doesn't typically eat dessert) had two big helpings and then took some home, too! I wouldn't change a thing about it! Thank you for an amazingly scrumptious dessert!
Im not a big raisin fan . I wonder if you could add pecans instead? Or apples? Maybe dried apples?
